Gilani asks India for “meaningful” dialogue

I urge India to enter into meaningful dialogue and results-oriented with Pakistan on the issue of Jammu and Kashmir, “said the Prime Minister in a letter read at a joint session of the Legislative Assembly of Azad Jammu Kashmir (AJK – Los Angeles) and Kashmir Council held in Muzaffarabad.

It was Gilani, who was scheduled to address the joint session of AJK’s Los Angeles and Kashmir Council, to cancel his visit to Muzaffarabad due to bad weather and poor visibility.

He said that India’s refusal to implement the decisions of the relevant Security Council has blocked the way for lasting peace in the region.

The Prime Minister of Pakistan unconditional desire to discuss all issues, including the issue of Jammu and Kashmir with India. However, he said that the sincerity and seriousness should remain the basic foundations for the dialogue process.

The Prime Minister said Kashmiris participation is essential in every effort possible to resolve the issue of Jammu and Kashmir.

The people of Pakistan, Gilani pledged to continue to provide moral support and political and diplomatic support for Kashmiris in their just struggle for the right to self-determination.

He said the conflict in Kashmir occupied by India was the result of human rights violations committed by Indian security forces.

“Peaceful uprising of indigenous people and on a wide range of the Kashmiri people has demonstrated that the issue of Jammu and Kashmir can not be ignored,” said the Prime Minister.

He said he was also human rights violations observed by the international community, and noted the international media.

“I salute the brave and courageous men and women and young people of Kashmir who have sacrificed their lives for the cause in the past six decades. The issue of Jammu and Kashmir continues to accrue from the development agenda of the United Nations.”

It also sought the support of the international community to the people of Kashmir for their right to self-determination.

The Prime Minister tribute to the memory of thousands of Kashmiri martyrs who sacrificed their lives for their just cause and said that the brave people of Jammu and Kashmir remains steadfast in its resolve to confront through non-violent means.

“We salute their sacrifices and their determination to hold high the banner of freedom to defend their dignity and honor.”

The prime minister said Pakistan will continue to provide moral support, diplomatic and political to the just cause of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

“We reiterate our absolute officially for the just struggle of the Kashmiri people for the protection of their fundamental rights, including the right to self-determination as enshrined in UN resolutions,” he said Gilani.
